Ok , this post is multi-tasking like all of us Momma's have to learn to do. So first - the ladies over at 5 Minutes for Mom are having a Mother's Day give-a-way carnival right now and to enter one of the give-a-ways I need to post one of my favorite Motherhood Moments and link to them so I've been thinking about it. I decided that I can't pick one favorite Motherhood Moment - would it be when I first saw my Lil Sugar as they held her screaming over the curtain so that I could see her before they cleaned her up? (I had to have a C-Section.) Or would it be when they brought her to me all cleaned up and swaddled in a blanket and laid her beside me while they removed the tumor that had grown alongside her? Or would it be when she first suckled my breast and began to eat? Or would it be the fun times when she began to smile and interact with us? Or would it be figuring out how to get her out of the bath without dropping her and without getting sopping wet?
I decided that it would be that last one. Before I had Lil Sugar I wasn't concerned much about knowing how to take care of her - after all, I'm the oldest of 4 by 10 years. And really, all the "taking care of a new baby" things just seemed to come naturally to me. Except, getting her out of the bath without dropping her and without getting myself soaked in the process. It took a few tries and by her third bath I figured it out and I felt a real sense of accomplishment in this long journey I was just starting as a Mom. I was seriously surprised by how hard it was for me to figure out this simple task and very thankful once I did.

Now, my contest entry is complete and I promised you guys a give-a-way here at A Blessed Crazy Life too so here is my Give-A-Way for you. It is a hooded bath towel and a Scrubby from my Step-Mom's Etsy Store - Baby Duds & More. My stepmom is an excellent seamstress (she made my wedding dress - you should be impressed). After she found out that I was pregnant with Lil Sugar the sewing bug bit her big time and she decided to pursue a dream she's had since her girls were little. The result is Baby Duds & More. This is awesome for me because she keeps making my little one clothes and bibs and neat things like that. She even made her dedication dress! The problem is getting the word out about her store so this is a step in taking care of that problem. She's had some luck selling at local sales where she has set up a booth but hasn't had much response to her store. Here is the prize:
And here is what you do to enter:
Leave a comment (I told you it would be easy)
Want an extra entry?
Visit Baby Duds & More and tell us what you like best, what you'd like to see more of or what you would special order if you were going to place a special order.
Contest will end and a winner will be picked at random Monday morning, May 12, around 7 am. Please make sure I have a way to contact you if you are the winner. Winner will have 4 days to respond and then will forfeit the prize and it will go to someone else.
Thanks!

I wish you would have shared how you actually did get her out of the bath without dropping her and getting yourself soak and wet. Or are you just trying to let soon to be parents like me learn the hard way? I'm onto you.
And leaving this comment is also a bonus--it gets me entered in the contest.
OK - I'll tell you how to get the baby out of tub - but you have to wait until Monday, I'll post that along with the name of the contest winner!
I'm not entering seeing that I don't have kids and there are so many that would be happy to get such a great gift. Cute contest and giveaway.
I love entering contests, and this would make a great baby gift. Hope your step-mom's store gets off the ground. You sound fortunate to have her in your life.
My friend had a granddaughter who also had a tumor that grew along side here. It was attached just above her hiney crack. Had blood vessels and everything. It was successfully removed, and she has the tinest scar. She's in 3rd grade. Had she delivered normally, it would have ruptured, and she would probably have died.
Your stepmom sounds like an amazing seamstress...congratulations to her on starting her own baby clothing line!
As for learning about taking care of babies, I had to start from scratch since I was an only child. Luckily my wife had been a nanny, so she helped keep me from being a total idiot about it.
Hi There, you stepmom does beautiful work. I know how hard it is trying to get traffic, I have a cafepress store with my own art and designs that I'm trying to get more exposure for. So I really do know what she's dealing with. I would be happy to give her a plug on my blog. Does she have a button for her store that I can put on my sidebar? You can e-mail me or leave me a message on my blog.
OK I'm gonna try here again. Here's my blog address:
You were one of the winners of the San Disk flash drive contest. Please send me your name and address to this email. If you want to give me a color preference, I will submit it, although I can't guarantee it.
Congrats!
(and if I win the contest, I'm okay with that too!)
