Talk about fast forwarding monthly goals...

Last week I posted about wanting to conquer the mess in my house this month, then my husband called and said that I had to have the WHOLE house neat for the HVAC guy to come and decide if we needed to redo some of our vents. So... we'll say that we've had to fast forward that goal a bit. I felt like this Thursday and Friday morning:

Are there still things to overcome, conquer and clean - Yes, but - I've got a good start!

Now on to the other goal - to spend nothing this month except for what is absolutely necessary... that one is proving a little harder. I've got coupons to Gordman's and Babies R Us. Gordman's is one of the places I find great deals and I only shop there when I have a coupon and there are a few birthday's coming up so it was difficult but I did it - I threw away the coupon! Next the Babies R Us coupons and sales... those are difficult to dispose of, my best friend is having a baby next month and Lil Sugar's birthday is September 2nd so... I still have those coupons - I don't know for sure if I'll use them, but I do still have them. Then I got an email today for Children's Orchard (a children's clothing resale store) saying that all of their clearance is $1. I'll be going there for sure. I just sold some of the clothes Lil Sugar has grown out of so I'll use that money and won't feel bad about it - I'm just recycling - too small clothes for too big clothes!

What about you? Are there any goals you are working towards this month?

PS - remember that new blog that The Hunter's Wife and I are working on? It will be coming soon to a computer screen near you AND I've heard a rumor that there will be an awesome give-a-way....

I'm looking forward to whatever you and Jody have come up with.

As far as goals..I'm not sure. I would love to have 10,000 dollars in the bank by the time the baby comes, but that is a dream for sure.

I'll have to think about a more reachable goal maybe....like getting the baby room done.

Sounds like you're doing pretty well on reducing the spending. We have a Children's Orchard here too and a lot of parents I know love it. As you said, you simply recycle too small clothes for bigger clothes.

Can't wait to see what you and Jody are cooking up. I'm sure it will be great.

My niece Addison's birthday is September 2. She will be 3 this year.

Yes goals, I have lots of them and will soon post how I keep it together.

A giveaway? I like those!

Goals....hmmm, I always have a goal to exercise more and eat less. I guess I could actually work on that goal instead of thinking about it.

Goals! Sometimes I think my goal is to actually set some goals.

One small goal is to finish a crochet project by the time my granddaughter's new room is ready. I have a few months on that one.

Another is to learn to knit socks. I'm not too sure how that one is going to wind up.

The most important one right now is that I've signed up for an exercise class for people with health problems. If I'm accepted, it will last 3 months, and I really really need it.

I totally get the clothing recycling. Twice a year, I sell the kids' clothes at a consignment sale and buy the next size. I try to make sure I only spend what I anticipate making in sales.

Oh, you're strong. I don't think I could have thrown away the coupon. Not with b-days coming up. I've been lessening our spending, but with b-days coming up too - Kayla's in August and parties, it's not all that easy. At least I have one coupon I can use for one of the b-days. :) And it's to a parent-teacher learning store too - my favorite!
